As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC's regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Regulatory Compliance Business Manager. Principal responsibilities
Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure an effective and efficient approach to business and financial management across area of responsibility.
Ensure the identification and implementation of best practice across the organisation to enable the highest operational standards.
Coordinate and implement Global Chief Operating Officer requirements across team to comply with all global processes and deadlines.
Assist Chief Operating Officer to define and adopt best practice through collaborating with our key business partners such as Finance, HR, Risk, Commercial Real Estate, and Communications.
Manage the relationships and processes with Purchasing and Procurement to increase the oversight and management of vendor and consultancy spend.
I nvolve in the creation and achievement of rolling operating plans, recommending cost savings approaches and actions to achieve financial plan and assist in their implementation.
University graduate preferably with a degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
Previous background of working in a large organization, and ability to work with individuals at different levels.
Strong interpersonal skills with highly developed capacity to influence senior teams.
Ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve complex problems whilst adhering to timelines and quality of output.
Ability to filter and prioritise multiple demands, resolve conflicts, and develop consensus.
Effective written and spoken communication skills in English.
Project Management and a strong relationship management with a focus on financial and budget requirements.
Ability to distil complex and varied data into information, good process analysis and problem solving skills
Attention to detail and ability to ensure that information is captured in a timely manner.
Good financial management abilities.
Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with Regulatory Compliance, Finance, Human Resources counterparts.
Willingness to own work and problems and see through to completion and to use own initiative to resolve issues.
Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to succeed within a matrix management structure and build and maintain global team relationships.
