Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Associate is a full-time hourly position, who is responsible for maintaining the School’s recruitment, admissions, and enrollment processes. Woodland School functions in a competitive environment, requiring that the Admissions Office to maintain a highly visible profile and responsive, client-centered communications. The Admissions Associate is an initial contact for many families inquiring about the School and plays a significant role in shaping the first impressions and ongoing experience of families in the admissions process. Working closely with the advancement team this person provides day-to-day support for the admissions program, interacting with a variety of constituents, including volunteers, students, applicant families, faculty and staff, other schools, and other referring organizations.
Prepare standard and customized follow-up responses to admissions inquiries
Manage and oversee the admissions database by regularly updating the records
Set up and maintain applicant files and follow up with applicant families about missing documents
Tour prospective families
Serve as a key relationship builder with prospective families to connect them with the mission and values of the School and ensure brand value is communicated at all times
Provide prospect management to individual families as they move through the application life cycle, from inquiry to enrollment. This includes outreach via phone, emails, written and face to face contact with prospective students and parents.
Partner with Director of Admissions in making key decisions for evaluating and admitting students; duties include advising/coaching, interviewing, and file review of each applicant.
Play a key role in coordinating communications stream for prospective families by overseeing the School’s prospect communication plan
Assist in the creation and production of marketing materials as needed
Provide logistical support for admissions events and other related events on campus; work closely with parent and student volunteers (ambassadors)
Provide staff support to School-wide events/ functions as needed
Maintain close and comprehensive communications with the Director of Admissions and other administrative staff
Other appropriate duties as assigned the Director of Admissions and Head of School.
A Bachelor Degree
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google applications.
Strong writing and verbal skills
Familiarity with independent schools and/or admissions experience preferred.
