Summary: Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Director of Advancement Services manages all service related and operational functions of the Advancement Office with primary responsibility and/or oversight of prospect management and development research, gift processing, acknowledgements preparation, all reporting functions, data integrity and records maintenance, and campaign preparation. The Director will also serve as liaison with the CAO relative to board and committee management and preparation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This candidate will:
Oversee accurate and timely processing, receipting, depositing, and reporting of all gifts, payments, and pledges to the School;
Serve as database module expert, conduct regular audits with the goal of improving data integrity, and facilitate training to ensure accuracy of data entry and educate regarding confidentiality policies;
Oversee all Advancement internal and external reporting, including those related to campaigns, endowment, and overall giving;
Adhering to industry standards, gather, analyze, interpret, and present prospect information so that a broad of array of solicitors/clients can determine the prospect’s interests, likelihood to give, and engage the prospect in a meaningful way;
Assist CAO in providing campaign feasibility analysis, proposing/approving campaign, and developing campaign leadership structure.
Oversee tracking of all endowments, developing content for and overseeing timely execution and distribution of all endowment stewardship reports;
Other special projects as assigned by CAO and Head of School.
Undergraduate degree required; masters preferred. Four to five years of work experience in fundraising preferably in research, campaign and/or education environment, with extensive reporting, systems, and stewardship expertise.
Strong knowledge of research resources including vendors, electronic data providers, and web-based information sites and searching techniques.
Exceptional writing, editing, quantitative, and communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to accuracy and detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and supervise others.
Interact effectively with others including high profile individuals and school leadership, meet deadlines, and work effectively under time constraints.
Expert knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications, as well as constituent relational databases.
Excellent planning, strategic, analytical, and implementation skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple and diverse tasks independently.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with technical support providers, management, and end-users.
Strong initiative in designing and pursuing goal-oriented programs and projects, with ability to assess and anticipate needs for information, monitoring and reporting.
Ability to work collaboratively across Advancement Team and other departments.
