This position serves as the school’s risk manager, records manager, and will provide operational and business support for the school’s auxiliary, summer, and transportation programs. This position reports both to the Controller and Auxiliary Programs Director. Some of the key tasks that you’ll be responsible for are:
Keep our students and staff safe! Lead our school’s Safety Committee, stay informed about school safety and emergency preparedness best practices, and provide staff training to ensure we remain compliant with state laws and regulations. You’ll also review proposed student activities and trips to identify areas of potential risk to staff and student safety, school property, and verify coverage with existing insurance policies.
Be the go-to backup! Provide backup and support for the Auxiliary Programs Director in managing the After School and Summer Programs. Provide front desk coverage at the end of the day, providing a welcoming and helpful reception for our families and visitors. It takes a team approach to make sure there’s always an Open Window staff member able to help, answer a question, or just point someone in the right direction.
Get them where they need to go! Work with our transportation providers to establish our morning bus routes, get families enrolled, and help ensure a successful morning transportation program. Coordinate transportation needs with the Auxiliary Programs Director and Middle School Special Programs Coordinator for field trips, after school activities, and all of the other places our students go within our community.
Be the keeper of the documents! Research, develop, implement, and train the staff on school record retention policies. Work with individual departments and school database administrator to design and develop filing (electronic and/or paper-based) systems for storage, retention, retrieval, and disposal.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a non-exempt position, eligible for overtime compensation.
Rate of Pay: $21.50-$24.00 per hour, depending upon experience
This position qualifies for a comprehensive benefits package which includes Open Window paid medical, dental, and vision insurance. In addition, a generous amount of paid leave is provided annually; including: 11 holidays; 12 sick/personal days; and, 5 weeks of vacation. Vacation is to be taken during the school’s regular breaks (spring break, winter break, mid-winter break). Given the responsibilities of the position, it will be necessary to be available for regular work hours during the Summer Program (generally July through the first week of August).
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the position.
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
Strong Excel and Word skills.
First Aid/CPR/AED certification (may be obtained upon hire)
The following skills, knowledge, and abilities may enhance an applicant’s candidacy.
Previous work experience in schools.
Previous experience, education, or training in legal or insurance disciplines.
Previous experience with policy and procedure development and implementation.
Hours: Full time, year-round position. 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM*, Monday through Friday
*During the 5-week Summer Program, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
