Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Manager for the department of OB/GYN at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Clinical Department Administrator, this position is responsible for all phases of fiscal, budget, and business planning within the Department of OB/GYN. This position assists the Senior Clinical Department Administrator with the management of all business aspects of the clinical, educational, and research missions.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Produces and manages monthly Profit and Loss statements at the department, division, program, and provider level.
Updates monthly summary reports to track faculty productivity, per diem and on call expenses, clinical trials invoicing/collections and clinical contract payments.
Acts as liaison between the Research Support Team and the Department to ensure accurate salary allocations and research grant budgets will be met.
Determines, in conjunction with the Senior Clinical Department Administrator, long and short range financial planning for the department. Prepares and submits comprehensive fiscal reports containing conclusions and recommendations.
Provides consultative direction to administrative staff pertaining to fiscal matters. Coordinates and instructs employees involved in preparation of financial statements and other fiscal reports ensuring fiscal responsibilities are fulfilled.
Drafts business plans,conducts financial analysis and prepares other ad hoc reports, as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree required in Business Administration, Healthcare or Public Administration, Finance or a related field plus four (4) years of experience in finance and budget preparation, administration and control, preferably at a medical center or an institution of higher education.
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Ability to lift or exert force up to 25 lbs.
