Provide oversight/support in the areas of financial planning, budget, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, personnel actions. Prepare and analyze data to ensure financial integrity for School of Medicine activities. Create financial models for decision support. Oversee staff human resource responsibilities of the School of Medicine to include employment procedures and payroll administration. Perform duties requiring independent judgment and planning as well as project coordination, budget management and information gathering.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Minimum four years of experience in fund accounting, budgeting, financial analysis and forecasting. Extensive experience and high proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and database software to support the budget function. Knowledge and experience of HR and faculty, staff and student payroll systems. Knowledge of and experience with Mac and PC computer based applications. Ability to function successfully while working with corporate and medical staffs in dual environments (Oakland University and William Beaumont Hospital); Detail oriented with the ability to track deadlines. Excellent organizational and financial analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Two years supervisory experience.
Experience in higher education. Experience in a medical school environment. Experience with Mac based computer systems. Experience in the hiring procedures for medical clinical faculty, teaching faculty and staff. Experience in the coordination and management of accreditation site visits.
