The Division of Information Technology (DIT) is hiring a Senior Business Manager to provide administrative and financial management to various units and accounts within the Division. This position will be responsible for large accounts with high levels of purchasing and procurements. Essential elements to the position are strong budgeting, accounting, forecasting, and strategic planning. These activities are vital in revenue tracking, billing, and other activities related to the financial management of the Division. Responsibilities of the position also include, but not limited to: travel, inventory management, and processing orders.
This position will be instrumental in process improvement for business practices, policies, and procedures within DIT. Of vital importance are cross-team processes to ensure streamlined communication and efficient timelines with the Business Office.
A successful candidate will be customer-oriented, be enthusiastic, positive, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and demonstrated an ability to take initiative. Excellent written and oral communication and computer skills are essential to this position. This position must adhere to University financial management standards, general management and accounting principles, practices, methods, and techniques.
The Senior Business Manager will report to the Assistant Director of Finance and HR within the Business Support Services unit.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, finance, management, or related field.
5-7 years of experience in finance, accounting, project management, auditing, contract/grant management, or other related field.
Expert in Excel to prepare and analyze complex spreadsheets.
Highly developed organization skills, ability to multi-task, and keen attention to detail.
Flexible and service-oriented manner.
Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliation, and revenue tracking.
Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills and ability to summarize financial information.
