Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Manager I (Grants & Contracts), for the Department of Finance at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The primary purpose of the Business Manager I (Grants & Contracts) is to provide support for the Grants and Contracts division of Finance, ensuring all reporting requirements as they relate to analytics and tools necessary in keeping up the financial well-being of CINJ.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides financial oversight and controls; procedures and practices; development, implementation and management of operational budgets, grants and contracts, endowments and gifts.
Supervision and assignment of assigned team.
Ensures team's timely processing of contract payments, accuracy of R&D planning expensing models, and addressing promptly contract payment issues.
Provides concise and accurate financial analysis as required by management. Identifies key performance indicators of financial functions, performing variance analysis and generating monthly performance reports.
Formulates projections and budget development as directed by Finance Management, Support the development of Grants and Contracts, Sponsored and Non Sponsored Project restricted Budget for financial reporting and thru review of monthly and fiscal year end variance analysis.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
Five (5) years of related working experience in a research/healthcare environment.
Two (2) years of experience in personnel supervision.
Equivalent education and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective oral and written communication skills.
High level proficiency with database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
The ability to supervise in a unionized environment.
Experience with OnCore® Clinical Trial Management System and Oracle Cloud Financials.
Strong experience managing a large portfolio of sponsored Grants and Contracts from various types of Sponsoring Agencies.
Strong knowledge of Research grants and contracts budgeting and federal guidelines/regulations pertaining to Research and Development.

PHYSICALDEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25lbs.
