The School is looking for an experienced accounting professional to provide financial expertise to a prestigious Independent school. This individual will play a key role in the financial and human resource functions of the school supporting the CFO. This individual will be someone who takes the initiative, has a can-do attitude and is a team player. They will also assist the CFO in developing procedures, processes and systems which will allow the school to gain greater efficiency.
Essential Job Functions
Manage all areas of accounting operations and financial reporting; including tuition invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals and reconciliation of all accounts.
Maintain all accounting records and vendor files.
Manage the month end and year end close process including the preparation of timely monthly financial statements.
Prepare payroll and retirement processing on a semi-monthly basis.
Prepare all schedules necessary for the year-end audit.
Assist CFO with preparation of the annual budget as well as quarterly financial forecasts.
Assist CFO with human resource functions of school including maintaining personnel files, payroll processing and changes, benefits management and employee contracts.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard the School’s assets.
Maintain the Parent Association’s monthly accounting operations.
Qualified candidates should have the following:
Bachelor’s degree in business, with emphasis in accounting or finance
CPA license preferred but not necessary
3 to 5 years of accounting experience
Nonprofit accounting experience
Salary and Benefits:
The position is a salaried exempt full-time position with a pay range that is very competitive and based upon level of experience.

Five weeks of school holidays off plus a minimum of 2 weeks’ vacation per year
Summer hours 9-3 pm. (As work allows).

Proficient in Microsoft office programs, especially Excel and MSWord
