Position Description: Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences is seeking a full-time manager to assist the Director of Annual Giving in strengthening and expanding a $4 million+ annual giving program. She/He collaborates closely with the Director and colleagues from advancement as well as volunteer leadership to grow and cultivate a culture of philanthropy within the Crossroads parent and alumni communities. The manager embraces Crossroads’ mission and core values in all facets of the relationship building process.
As an integral member of the Annual Giving team, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
Developing annual strategy for increased dollars and participation with the Director of Annual Giving
Coordinating advancement events such as new parent dinners, phonathons etc.
Identify, retain, educate, and evaluate potential volunteers for annual giving
Facilitate regular communication of dollars raised to Development Committee and other volunteers
Assist with production of special communication pieces including: solicitations, volunteer updates, caller training tools, thank-you cards, stewardship pieces, videos, and presentations
Produce reports regarding annual giving progress to goals
Maintain, update, and revise records in school’s database as deemed necessary/appropriate and in collaboration with advancement services. This will include the review and approval of caller notes from parent volunteers
Attend evening events as needed including: donor stewardship dinners, caller training events, grade-level parties, as well as other school functions while tending to the stewardship of volunteers and potential donors
Assist in production of annual report, including generation of appropriate lists and proofreading
Communicate with constituents as needed (in writing, in person, by phone etc.) to increase positive presence of Advancement office within the Crossroads community
Personally make asks to help ensure dollar and participation goals are exceeded for annual giving
Maximize the corporate matching gift potential among current donors
Recommend Major Gifts prospects from the Annual Fund donors
1-3 years of development experience, preferably in annual giving; background in independent schools preferred
Strong organization and communications skills
Fluency with Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred
