The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial accounting and reporting. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining systems to ensure adherence to GAAP and maintaining procedures and internal controls that ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses rigorous deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger, student billing and other accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets accounting, account analysis and reconciliation, financial reporting, compliance with various regulatory agencies, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
The Accounting Manager will have contact with the Controller and Chief Financial Officer which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. Exceptional analytical and accounting skills and attention to detail and accuracy is required. The Accounting Manger must be able to lead others effectively and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. A CPA and experience working in an academic setting is preferred.
