Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Manager for the Rutgers Future Scholars program. This position provides coordination, management and administration of business services for the Rutgers Future Scholars program. The financial business services include management and oversight of the budget and finance functions of the RFS offices in Newark, New Brunswick/Piscataway, Camden and Rahway. Among the key duties are the following:
Oversees budgets of program sites reporting to the Rutgers Future Scholars director.
Creates reliable Monthly Budget Status reports are prepared including a current list of commitments, commitments funded to date, detailed reports of all diversity funded initiatives, permanent commitments and enrollment adjustments, a report of commitment variances each month, a detailed summary of current reserve balances of dollars and FTE's.
Manages, oversees and approves budget adjustments and journal entries for each commitment.
Monitors of reserve balances and alerting the Associate Director, and Senior Director of Budget and Administration for the Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs of any forecasted risks regarding resources.
Identifies resources that are appropriate for each commitment and managing the processing of budget adjustments and journal entries serving as the approver.
Works with Executive Assistant to the RFS associate director and director with personnel and other related business.
Develops policies and procedures of commitments when working with program sites so that proper controls are maintained with RFS accounts.
Prepares trend analysis as requested and budget forecasting for future spending of reserve balances.
Creating and preparing reliable financial information for the director of RFS, the University Foundation, the Office of the Vice President of Enrollment Management & Academic Affairs and oversight and enforcement of University Policies and Procedures necessary to safeguard University assets.

A master's degree in a related field is preferred.

Extensive experience in budget management, accounting and finance.
