Saint Ignatius High School, a highly successful Jesuit college preparatory school for boys in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking an Assistant Principal of Academic Administration (AP). This 12-month position reports to the Principal and is responsible for the administration of programs, policies, events and resources which affect the academic life of the school. In addition to serving as acting principal when needed, the AP supervises the following positions: Director of the Walton Center for Learning, College and School Counseling Department Chairs, Registrar, Summer School Principal and Standardized Testing Coordinator. The ideal candidate is a demonstrated, experienced academic leader with an exceptional administrative skill set both in and out of the classroom and the ability to effectively interface with all members of the school community.

Primary Areas of Responsibility:
Curriculum: ensure compliance with state and diocesan graduation requirements; coordinate with the Curriculum Committee and department chairs to evaluate current curricula, develop new curricula and update as needed; serve on the Academic Planning Committee of the Board of Regents.
Registration, Scheduling and Course Placement: coordinate with the school registrar and academic counselors to ensure appropriate student scheduling based on graduation requirements and academic ability; coordinate with department chairs to schedule faculty, assign proctoring duties and administer semester exams; supervise substitute teacher scheduling, bell schedules and academic calendar management; enforce academic policies, e.g. course withdrawal, schedule changes.
Standardized Testing: ensure students are meeting state requirements for standardized testing and are prepared for college admissions; coordinate with academic counselors in planning, ordering, and administering standardized tests, e.g. SAT School Day, AP testing and PSAT/NMSQT; communicate with parents and students in administration of standardized testing; manage the budget for standardized testing.
Academic Records and Reports: ensure academic data is accurately recorded and reported; administer and supervise state and federal funding programs including Auxiliary Funds, Mandated Services, and Title 1, 3, and 4 funding; maintain academic ineligibility list; supervise the Walton Center and the Academic Watch program; manage communications with parents and students regarding scheduling, grades, academic policies, academic integrity reports, summer school and remediation efforts; manage the budget for academic programming.
MA in Educational Administration or related field
10+ years teaching experience
Experience in school administration and with the PowerSchool SIS preferred
