Under general supervision, the Business Manager ensures the requirements of the day-to-day operations of the Macomb-Oakland University (Macomb-OU INC) and Oakland University (OU INC) are met while supporting adherence to Oakland University administrative policies and procedures; collaborates and assists the Macomb-Oakland University Incubator leadership with process driven programing including the Beeline to Commercialization, along with compliance issues related to funding agency standards and regulations.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Five years of progressively responsible administrative experience. Knowledge of the BANNER or other financial systems. Experience in business incubation. Ability to understand grant milestones and the ability to monitor progress in achievement therein. Strong communication and problem solving skills, both written and verbal, with both internal and external customers. Experience with accounts payable and receivable as well as supervising student interns. Practical experience with Salesforce and the ability to administer reports therefrom. Must be able to work under pressure and manage a heavy workload with competing priorities and deadlines. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Experience in the State of Michigan SmartZone ecosystem, including Business Accelerator Fund program as well as the Oakland University processes. Certification in Incubator Management.
