The Hun School of Princeton seeks a highly-engaged Assistant Director for the Annual Fund and Parent Relations to join our Office of Advancement.
Reporting to the Director of the Hun Fund the Assistant Director for the Annual Fund and Parent Relations and is responsible for assisting in securing Annual Fund support from alumni, parents, and friends of the School and for supporting the Parent’s Association.
Hun Fund Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of the Annual Fund in assigned aspects of planning and executing the Hun Fund program including recruiting and training Annual Fund volunteers;
Manage the production of selected Hun Fund parent appeals – written, telephone, email, web-based social media, and face-to-face;
Manage the Young Alumni Giving program including working with the Director of Alumni Engagement and Reunion Giving to coordinate the Raider Giving Society appeal;
Cultivate and personally solicit a portfolio of Annual Fund leadership gift prospects;
Manage phonathons, including data selection, drafting of scripts, recruitment and training of parent callers, producing materials, and collecting pledges and gifts;
Assist in overseeing Annual Fund acknowledgments and gift processing;
Assist with managing all Annual Fund-related events, activities and volunteer recognition;
Attend and assist as needed Advancement Office special events;
Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Annual Fund.
Parent Relation Responsibilities:
Responsible for working with Advancement Office staff and the School’s administration to involve parents meaningfully in supporting the school’s mission;
Assist the Parents Association Chair in recruiting, coordinating and supporting parent volunteers and the activities of the Parents Association;
Scheduling and attending regular Parents Association meetings and managing any needed follow-up;
Providing needed support to Parents Association events and activities including the Parents Association Gala/Auction and Golf and Tennis Outing;
Overseeing the design, scheduling, promotion, and all details related to Parents’ Weekend.
Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, which may be altered or redesigned as necessary;
Ability to periodically work beyond and outside the typical workday in order to meet the needs of the Advancement Office and the School;
Must be detailed oriented, thorough and accurate;

Must possess good judgment, tact, sensitivity, and discretion in the handling of confidential information, materials, and situations;
Personal qualities including resilience, approachability, and kindness;
Must possess good social skills and ability to interact and work with a diverse school community including faculty and staff, students, guardians, and parents;
Must be fingerprinted and pass State of New Jersey Criminal Background check.

This Assistant Director for the Annual Fund and Parent Relations position is full-time, twelve (12) months per year, exempt, and benefits eligible. The working environment is an office and school environment on a hilly 45-acre campus in Princeton, New Jersey. The abilities to occasionally lift files and storage boxes, walk up and down stairs, attend meetings in varying locations throughout campus, and continually use computers and related office equipment are required. Not all buildings on campus have elevators. All employees must be fingerprinted and pass a full criminal history background check.
