Reporting to and in partnership with the Head of School, the Director of Development will spearhead development efforts as The Selwyn School continues to grow. A new position in the organization, the Director will have the opportunity to build the development function so that it attracts the maximum gift support possible for our school.
Develop and execute The Selwyn’s School’s annual fundraising plan, including strategy and budget.
Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations
Manage the implementation of the donor data base and oversee staff responsible for data entry and gift processing
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors and alumni
Creating and executing a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors
Overseeing organization of special events and the creation of any tools or materials required to support development efforts
Developing and tracking proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising
A Bachelors Degree is required. Masters is a plus.
Five-plus years’ experience in development, ideally within an independent school environment, with a proven track record
Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
Comfort with wealth engine data bases
Have unimpeachable ethics, honesty, respect for all and a deep desire to work on behalf of students and the people who serve them.
