The principles of Sacred Heart education are as relevant today as they were in post-Revolutionary France. Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, who founded the Society of the Sacred Heart in 1800, envisioned a transformational education. Her vision was realized in the United States when Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne arrived in Saint Charles, Missouri in 1818 to establish Sacred Heart education. Villa Duc...hesne was founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 1929 to honor this religious pioneer with Oak Hill founded in 1973. Today, we are a Catholic school in the Sacred Heart tradition for boys and girls age 3 through grade 6 and young women in grades 7 through 12.
