Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Financial Management team. MHS is currently optimizing all of its business processes for increased effectiveness and efficiency in order to better support its mission and strategic goals, particularly to grow to serve more students. As such, the selected candidate will be starting at a pivotal time and have the opportunity to make an immediate impact.
The Financial Analyst has responsibility for the following functions: budget versus actual expense variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing financial transactions for accuracy, preparing financial statements and reports, assisting with the development of the annual operating and capital budgets, and liaising with external auditors. It is anticipated that this position’s roles and responsibilities will evolve as business processes are further refined.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related major (CPA or MBA is preferred).
At least 3 years of successful and value-added experience in accounting or financial analysis function in a mid- to large-size organization.
Experience using ERP software (PeopleSoft proficiency is preferred).
Demonstrated ability of analytical thinking and creative problem solving.
Advanced-level Excel skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with various departments.
Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are considered to be role models for MHS students.
